    DESCRIPTION

In 1991 we introduced our first aluminum rim, the Aero.  33 years later, we've created a new version featuring all the design enhancements we've developed along the way.  Additionally, the Aero utilizes a new and stronger advanced aluminum alloy.  This rim is a nod to the history of our company, and we've chosen to name our first new rim using this alloy after the rim that started it all.

6069 alloy offers improved resistance to denting and fatigue damage.  Riders who are tough on wheels will enjoy greater impact resistance; those who pile on miles can expect a longer service life compared to traditional 6061 or 6063 alloy.  We're proud to introduce this Velocity exclusive alloy in partnership with Profile Precision Extrusion in Arizona.

The Aero is a disc-only road, gravel, commuter, and even tandem ready model built for tires 28-53mm wide.  It's lightweight, yet still remarkably durable, designed after our well-loved Aileron. The Aero features an elliptical profile designed with aerodynamics and strength as key factors. With a 23mm internal width this rim will give riders a nice contact point for better traction.

We've designed the Aero to accept spoke nipple washers, a great enhancement for builds which demand the utmost in strength and durability.  Washers are not required or provided with rims.

The Aero has the same ERD as the Aileron, making rim swaps with the Aileron easy if current riders would like to make the switch.

    FAQ

We guarantee our products for at least 2 years. CZR carbon rims have a lifetime warranty.

You can return any unused Velocity product for up to 30 days, no questions asked.

We drill all of our rims to allow for smooth spoke adjustment. Always place a drop of lubricant between the rim and spoke nipple when building or making an adjustment.

We recommend building to spoke tension between 110kgf and 130kgf. Each rim may behave a bit differently; the mark of an excellent wheel builder is the ability to find the highest tension a rim will allow while maintaining its radial and lateral true.
